Stable Cottage at Glanton Northumberland offering a two bedroom cottage for holiday accommodation, on the East side of the Glanton Pyke, that was recently renovated by the acclaimed and award winning interior design company Johnstone Parke Interiors.
Described by the Daily Mail as one of the most magnificent English gardens in Northumberland.,
The gardens are designed to be experienced throughout the year. In winter, frost creates quiet silhouettes and a sense of peace and enchantment. As spring arrives, snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils and hyacinths bring the first colour, followed by vibrant Ranunculus in mid-spring. Summer sees the gardens in full bloom, with roses, dahlias and many other flowers filling the borders and providing blooms for cutting.
The Hall is surrounded by three gardens that wrap around the house, while the Cottage has its own charming private garden. At the heart of the estate lies the walled garden, structured into a series of rooms through topiary hedges, with an Italian-style pond, a Laburnum arch walk way, vegetable beds, fruit trees and a dedicated cutting garden. Beyond the walls, the garden opens onto a wild meadow.
Woodland walks wind through the estate, offering beautiful routes to explore the landscape and foothills. Seven listed features, including a historic dog kennel and dovecote, add further character and a sense of history to the grounds.
Glanton Pyke sits within one of England’s darkest night-sky regions, making it ideal for stargazing. Clear evenings reveal constellations, planets and meteor showers, offering a rare and memorable night-time experience.
